Bath Rugby vs Sale Sharks 24.03.24

Matt Gallagher A sustained break from the halfway line saw Finn Russell, Joe Cokanasiga and Cam Redpath ship the ball through their hands until it was freed up to Matt Gallagher, who ran up the left wing to score Bath’s first try of the day.

Joe Cokanasiga Ted Hill burst up the right-hand wing and left the Sale defence scrambling. Next came some Harlem-Globetrotter-style passing from Russell, Tom Dunn and Redpath, before the ball landed in the arms of Joe Cokanasiga who leapt over the line.

Joe Cokanasiga Quick hands and quick thinking along the right wing, including from forwards Sam Underhill and Ted Hill, set Cokanasiga free to run in from the 22 for his second.

Tom Dunn This one was a Dunn classic- a lineout from five metres out set up a rolling maul, which Dunn then joined and re-took the ball. Power told, and the pack pushed over the line.

Ollie Lawrence Will Muir was denied a score in Horse Corner as he galloped towards his favoured area of the pitch but was brought down by a Sale tackle. Fortunately, he passed to Ollie Lawrence on his shoulder, who put the ball down to seal Bath’s win.

Harlequins vs Bath Rugby 30.03.24

Will Muir The Bath forward pack were fruitlessly camped on the line, desperate for a try when they were 37 points down with only half an hour to go. The ball came out via Finn Russell, and the ball ended up in the hands of Muir on the wing, who scored.

Alfie Barbeary Bath were awarded a penalty after an offside offence, a few metres from the line. Finn Russell was in no mood to wait, and after a quick tap and go, sent the ball up to Alfie Barbeary, who twisted his body at a sharp angle to get the ball down over the line.

Louis Schreuder The ball was carried closer and closer to the line by Miles Reid and Jacques du Plessis, who popped the ball to replacement scrumhalf Schreuder to score.

Ruaridh McConnochie Orlando Bailey moved the ball away from a congested midfield, sending it across to McConnochie. He then ran in from the wing, to score Bath’s fourth of the day – securing the try bonus point.

Elliott Stooke A rapid attack was set up by an attacking line out a few metres from the line. The ball was sent out to Elliott Stooke, a rather surprise winger, who landed over the line to secure Bath’s losing bonus point.
