January 2025
Northampton Saints versus Bath Rugby 05.01.25
Joe Cokanasiga This was a try that felt classic and traditional – an attacking scrum in the opposition’s 22 set up back play that resulted in a long pass to Cokanasiga on the wing, running in for Bath’s first score.
Orlando Bailey This try was similar to Bath’s first, but with an attacking maul instead of a scrum. Bailey, for this match in the 15 shirt, danced around defenders to score.
Will Stuart It took a little patience as Bath were camped on the Northampton line, but suddenly Stuart shot through the defence to score at close range.
Max Ojomoh Searching for a bonus point try, Bath were camped close to the opposition tryline. A neat pop-pass to Ojomoh saw the centre through a gap in the defence.
Joe Cokanasiga Miles Reid prevented an offload in the midfield, and sent the ball to a chasing Cokanasiga. The wing then showed his speed as he raced in to score from the halfway line.
Bath Rugby versus Clermont Auvergne 12.01.25
Tom de Glanville A break from Max Ojomoh saw him sprint from the halfway line to the 22. Quick recycling from Ben Spencer and a long, precise pass from Finn Russell set up de Glanville to sprint in – in just the second minute of the match.
Finn Russell A ruck just in front of the posts looked to rumble on through the forwards, but it soon went wide and Russell darted through a gap in the French defence.
Joe Cokanasiga Off the back of an attacking lineout, Finn Russell sent a beautiful chip into midfield, which was gathered by Max Ojomoh. He handed off to Cokanasiga on his shoulder, who ran in to complete an impressive score.
Thomas du Toit The South African continued his high scoring season as he drove over the line from an attacking series of rucks in the shadow of the posts.
Thomas du Toit Scoring a brace on the night, du Toit showed patience and power after a series of pick-and-gos close to the line saw him score Bath’s fifth try.
Ollie Lawrence In what was far from his usual type of try, Lawrence was hanging off the back of a ruck in “Horse Corner” when he saw an opportunity to dot the ball down to seal Bath’s win.
Leinster Rugby versus Bath Rugby 18.01.25
Alfie Barbeary In an explosive start to a high-stakes match, Tom de Glanville and Ted Hill powered up the left-wing, drawing in defenders and creating a gap through which Barbeary launched himself to score after just one minute on the clock.
Tom de Glanville An attacking scrum near the Leinster tryline resulted in some neat interplay between Ben Spencer and Finn Russell, who released the ball to a chasing de Glanville who nipped over to score.
Tom de Glanville A beautiful break from Ollie Lawrence, who floated between Irish defenders, was finished off by de Glanville (after a delightful back-of-the-hand offload from Lawrence).
Sale Sharks versus Bath Rugby 26.01.25
Ruaridh McConnochie Beno Obano began a rampaging attack on the Sale line. It looked as if the forwards would take it over, but when the ball went loose Finn Russell span it out to McConnochie on the wing.
Ruaridh McConnochie Instead of waiting for the award of a penalty that had been indicated by the referee’s hand, Finn Russell moved the ball across the pitch and set up McConnochie to run through a gap on the 22 and score Bath’s second try.
Max Ojomoh After he was denied a similar score moments before, Ojomoh was second-time-lucky. Finn Russell threw a long pass to Joe Cokanasiga, who offloaded to Ojomoh who landed over the line.
Tom Carr-Smith With the game still in the balance, the Bath defence turned over the ball close to their own line. With the Sale team still catching their breath, Finn Russell kicked the ball clear and Carr-Smith ran the length of the pitch to score Bath’s bonus point try.
